Our Mission Statement
"The Forum is striving to put domestic violence on the public agenda, co-ordinate the work of those agencies providing information and support for sufferers of domestic violence, and look at the positive alternatives for both sufferers and perpetrators."

Definition of Domestic Violence
Domestic violence is the harm done by an individual misusing power leading to any form of physical violence, sexual and/or verbal abuse, threats, intimidation, manipulation and emotional abuse within any living environment, which can have long term effects.

Domestic violence can involve partners, ex-partners, family members and anyone within a relationship or past relationships and within same sex relationships. It can happen to anyone, not necessarily in the home, for example, it can occur over the phone, through letters and via another person (such as in-laws).

"Domestic violence can affect women, men, children, family members, neighbours and communities directly or indirectly"
